This program is structured into theory-based learning and hands-on practice, ensuring that you are well-equipped to excel in this growing field.
Program Overview
- Duration: 130 hours online (+ optional 120-hours externship if you do not wish to test with PTCB)
- Format: Online, self-paced study, (+ optional 120-hours externship if you do not wish to test with PTCB).
- Course Objectives:
- Understand Pharmacy Laws and Pharmacology: Learn legal and ethical guidelines, pharmaceutical terminology, and the effects and interactions of medications.
- Accurate Medication Dispensing and Calculations: Master skills in preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications, along with performing necessary pharmacy calculations.
- Utilize Pharmacy Technology and Ensure Patient Safety: Gain proficiency in pharmacy software, inventory management, and maintaining safety and quality assurance in medication handling.
- Grading:
- Quizzes and Final cannot be reset. Ensure you are fully prepared and in a quiet and distraction free environment prior to starting.
- You must earn an overall grade of at least 75% in order to pass the online portion.
