Program Description

Partnering with the Heart to Serve Institute, H2S training is offered at Equip Resource Solutions, 1814 5th, San Diego. If you’re passionate about helping others and seeking a fulfilling, hands-on career, beginning as a Caregiver is an excellent opportunity!

What is a Caregiver?

A Caregiver plays a crucial role in the healthcare landscape, providing direct support and assistance to individuals in need, whether in their homes or community settings. Their responsibilities are varied and vital, ensuring that clients receive the care and companionship necessary for a better quality of life.

Minimum Student Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old (Parental consent required if under 18)

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport)

  • Social Security Card (Non-laminated) or ITIN

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Live Scan (Background Check) – Instructions provided during enrollment

  • TB Test & Physical Exam Clearance

  • Immunization Records

  • BLS (CPR) card from the American Heart Association

Free Parking

FREE public parking daily until 6:00 PM at the Balboa Park lot located just east of Sixth Avenue.

Free Parking hours vary. Please plan accordingly.

How to Find Free Parking
  1. Enter the parking lot off Balboa Drive (see map below with blue “P”).
  2. After parking, walk west across the grass and path toward Sixth Avenue.
  3. Cross Sixth Avenue and continue one block to the red X building (our campus).

From I-5 North or South:

  • Take the Pershing Drive exit or 6th Avenue exit.
  • Follow signs for Downtown/Balboa Park and head south on Sixth Avenue.
  • Turn left on Elm St — campus is located at corner of Elm & Sixth.

From 163 South:

  • Exit at University Ave and continue south on Sixth Avenue.
  • Cross Juniper Road, continue past Balboa Park.
  • Turn right at Elm Street — we’re right across from the parking lot!

From 94 West:

  • Merge onto I-5 North, exit at Sixth Avenue.
  • Head north on Sixth Avenue and turn left at Elm St.
