Hybrid · San Diego & Bay Area · Morning, Afternoon & Weekend Cohorts
Our Clinical Medical Assistant Program is a hybrid program split up into four components that take approximately 4 months to complete. The online virtual and hands-on in-person lab training period is just fourteen weeks. During this period, students are required to be in class twice per week.
One of your weekly class sessions is hosted online and can be attended anywhere with a WiFi connection. The other weekly session is hosted in our hands-on learning lab in downtown Pittsburgh or at one of our partner clinics. Students receive online instructor-guided support throughout their studies.
Once their fourteen-week online and hands-on learning studies are complete, students will then have the opportunity to complete an externship of 120 hours of non-paid hands-on clinic experience. We support our students in procuring their community externship location — and we help students find a site that aligns with their passion and career goals. Many of our externs are offered direct employment at their externship site.
In addition, we support the student with resume building, interview skills, and more. With our curriculum, once a student completes all four components and their externship, they are then eligible to sit for the NHA National certification exam for both Medical Assistant and Medical Office Assistant.
WMTC is partnered with NHA. The curriculum, online experience, and certification support are provided by one of the nation's leading accrediting institutions.
