American Heart Association BLS/ALS Provider Course — offered three times per month at WMTC's San Diego campus for enrolled students and onsite corporate partners.

CPR/BLS/ALS certification is a required component of all WMTC hybrid programs (CCMA, Pharmacy Technician, and EKG Technician). This course is fully included in your tuition — there is no separate fee. Simply select a session day and time that works for your schedule and register through the Student Portal. Student Portal.
Online-only students are also welcome to attend any available session.

About the BLS/ALS Provider Course
WMTC offers the Basic Life Support & Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS) Provider Course as approved by the American Heart Association through the classroom training method. The course teaches AHA science-based skills and results in an AHA BLS/ALS Course Completion eCard, valid for two years.
The BLS/ALS Provider Course trains participants to promptly recognize and respond to several life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality CPR, and provide early use of an AED. It is designed for healthcare professionals, trained first responders, and individuals enrolled in a healthcare training program.
The course features an emphasis on high-quality CPR including a team dynamics classroom activity, video-based course with real-world scenarios, and practice sessions with instructor feedback.

- Adult, child, and infant CPR techniques
- High-quality chest compressions and rescue breathing
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction
- Team dynamics and two-rescuer CPR
- Real-world scenario practice with instructor feedback
Who Should Attend
CPR/BLS/ALS classes at WMTC are available exclusively to enrolled WMTC students and onsite corporate partners. These classes are not open to the general public. Healthcare professionals, individuals seeking renewal, and anyone required to hold a current BLS/ALS Provider card for employment are not eligible — there is no outside registration process.

Enrolled WMTC Students
All enrolled students — including online students — can register for an upcoming CPR session directly through the Student Portal. Choose the Friday, Sunday, or Monday slot that fits your schedule. Seats are limited per session.

Students who successfully complete the BLS/ALS Provider Course receive an AHA BLS/ALS Course Completion eCard, valid for two years. The eCard is issued digitally by the American Heart Association and is accepted by employers across all healthcare settings.
