Program Description

We offer the Basic Life Support (BLS) Course as approved by the American Heart Association through the classroom training method. The course teaches American Heart Association science-based skills and results in an Association BLS Course Completion eCard.

The BLS Provider Course trains participants to promptly recognize and respond to several life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality CPR, and provide early use of an AED. It is designed for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings, as well as individuals enrolled in a healthcare training program.

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive an Association BLS Course Completion eCard, valid for two years.

What is the BLS Provider Course?

The BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. The course features an emphasis on high-quality CPR including a team dynamics classroom activity, video-based course with real-world scenarios, and practice sessions with instructor feedback.

BLS certification is required or recommended for healthcare professionals across virtually all clinical settings.

Course Details

Format: Classroom BLS (Instructor-led, hands-on)

Duration: Approximately 4.5 hours including skills practice and skills testing (based on 1 instructor : 6 students : 2 manikins)

Completion Card: BLS Provider Course Completion eCard, valid for two years

Program Dates

Minimum Enrollment Notice: All cohorts are subject to a minimum student enrollment requirement. If a cohort does not meet the minimum, enrolled students will be notified in advance and offered the next available start date at no penalty.
